I think this weeks arrangement is either a love it or a hate it kind of thing. Of course I love it, its colours inspired by the tea-pot itself and its style inspired by my memories of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in Alice in Wonderland. Until seeing the colours of the tea-pot I don’t know if I would ever have put them together in an arrangement, but for me, they work.
I’m growing my own Bells of Ireland in my cutting patch right now but they are still pretty small seedlings. The luscious green Bells of Ireland in this arrangement (along with the Yarrow) are from Bath Tub Gardens in Pemberton, a local organic cut flower farm just North of Whistler, BC. I bought them from a beautiful store called Room6 in Deep Cove, North Vancouver that gets weekly deliveries from the farm.
The ‘Blue Boy’ Corn Flowers are some of the first flowers to bloom in my own cutting patch, and the purple Hosta blooms are also from my own garden.
Thanks mum for bringing the tea-pot all the way from England for me. I don’t think this will be my last arrangement in such a beautiful vessel.
