Week 38 of The Blooms
To many buying flowers is more of a luxury, maybe for a special occasion or gift rather than a weekly purchase. Even to those who love flowers, spending money on something that doesn’t last that long might not be a priority. But even the simplest, cheapest, bunch of flowers can look great on their own or you can simply add a few ingredients from your garden to spice it up.
This week I bought a bunch of Alstroemeria for $6.99 from the corner store that were grown at a local farm not far from Vancouver. Wanting to incorporate some Autumnal colours I added some blueberry branches, trailing ivy, and some chillies, all from the garden. I pierced the chillies with barbecue skewers and just added them into the arrangement as I would a flower.
